The Evolution of Jazz Ensemble
The Evolution of Jazz Ensemble (EOJ) Ensemble was created by Archie Alleyne to provide mentorship and performance opportunities for young African Canadian students graduating from music programs at Toronto's post-secondary institutions. The EOJ since its inception has performed in many high profile engagements and has been featured in AASF productions alongside some of Canada's finest artists. In 2012 they recorded their debut album "Syncopation Life in the key of Black" featuring original compositions by Archie Alleyne, Dr. Andrew Scott, and EOJ vocalist Kamil Andre. The group is comprised of students, recent graduates and mentors. Most recently they were featured performers at City Hall in Toronto and Scarborough as part of the Black History Month Celebrations hosted by the Mayor and Deputy Mayor.
